The International Buddhist College (IBC) is the realization of a vision of an international institute of higher learning offering quality Buddhist Studies in a modern, scholarly, non-sectarian and spiritually dedicated community. This institute of higher learning seeks to combine the rigors of academic scholarship with a healthy appreciation of Buddhist traditions throughout history and the world as such. When fully established, it will consists of three main faculties offering certificate, diploma and degree courses in Pali Buddhist Studies, East Asian Buddhist Studies and Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies.

LOCATION
The IBC's campus is strategically located in Khlong Ngae, between the Thai-Malaysian border and Hatyai, which is the third largest city of Thailand.

COURSES
Courses includes Certificaten Diploma, Bechalor of Arts and Postgraduate Diploma.
Extension courses
Certificate Course in Buddhist Studies.
This course is designed as a systematic introduction to Buddhism, covering its religio-philosophical and socio-cultural dimensions.
Subjects:
* Fundamental Buddhist Doctrines.
* The Social Philosophy of Buddhism and it's contemporary relevance.
* Buddhism in contemporary Asia.
Duration:
6 months, full time.
Pre-requisites:
At least 17years of age.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Diploma Course.
This course includes,
* The study of the origins & basics of Buddhism & it's historical context.
* Fundamental doctrines, growth, development and spread.
Duration:
One-year, full time.
Pre requisites: same as the above.
University courses
Bachelor of Arts Degree Courses

The BA degree programmes are designed to provide a comprehensive knowledge of Theravada Buddhism, courses will involve,
* An in-depth study of the Fundamental Doctrines of Early Buddhism
* Their historical development in the Theravada Abhidhamma and their commentarial tradition.
* Attention will also focus on other schools of Indian Buddhism.
* Pali for Theravada Buddhist Studies.
Duration:
3 years, covering fifteen subjects
Pre-requisites:
(a) A pass in any examination which qualifies for admission to a recognized university
(b) Successful graduates of the IBC Diploma
Or
(c) Any other educational attainment which the senate of IBC deems to be equivalent to the above requirements
(d) Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Post- graduate Diploma Course
The course contents are similar to that of the diploma course but students are involved in more detailed and in depth study.
Duration:
One-year, full time.
Pre-requisites:
(a) A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any subject from a recognized university.
(b) Proficiency in written and spoken English.

The whole logo represents Sunrise over the sea and signifies Progress and Development in Education and Religion.
The Design:
The Willow Branch in a Vase is for Karuna (Compassion), Metta (Loving Kindness) and Sila (Morality). The Wheel with eight spokes, for the Dhamma (Teachings of the Buddha) and Religion. The Rope around the logo is for Strength and Unity. The Lai Chin, for Continuity, Togetherness and Harmony. The Waves, for the Ocean, Enormous and Pure,
The Colours:
Blue, stands for respect for the King, Yellow, for Religion, White, for Purity and Morality, Red for Loyalty to Land and Country, Green for Peacer and Harmony, and Orange, for Sunshine which represents Success. The Book and Pen for Education and Research.
